Date: Batch 1: December 4-10th,2023 | Batch 2: December 11-17th,2023
Day 1:
Njp/Bagdogra to Mangan. A bit of afternoon birding on the way of time permits.
Day 2:
Start early in the morning (by 6:30 am after breakfast) for Lachen. Full day birding on the way. We will stop by at Sunrise point, Manul, Toong, Chungthang, Theng Tunnel, Chaten and other places based on opportunities.
Targets: Little, Spotted Forktail, Yellow bellied Fairy Fantail, Wallcreeper, Nepal House Martin, Brown and Black throated Parrptbill, Spotted Laughingthrush, Yellow rumped Honeyguide etc.
Day 3-4:
Start by 5 am in the morning and reach Kalep/ Thangu by 6:30 am. Have breakfast and leave for Gurudongmar. Stay back till 11:30 am and then return to the hotel while birding on the way back. Have lunch and call it a day.
Day 5:
Either follow the same routine
Or, do birding in and around Lachen for the whole day. On this day we will cover places like Zeema, Lachen bridge, Lachen monastery and many more places.
Targets: Speckled Wood Pigeon, Shrike Babblers,Red headed Bullfinch, Black browed Bushtit, Grandalas, Darjeeling Woodpecker, White browed Bish Robin, Spotted Nutcracker etc.
Day 6:
Have a brief birding session in Lachen and then leave for Gangtok after breakfast. Lunch on the way. Birding for the whole day. Check into the hotel.
Day 7:
Morning visit to Hanuman Tak and Other places for Blue winged and Grey sided Laughingthrush. Later transfer to Siliguri/NJP STATION. Tour ends.
